About the Site
Kashira's Ninth Dimension started out years ago (I'm not sure of the exact date, but I believe sometime during 1999) on Angelfire's free website hosting service. The site was crude at first, originally made by filling out beginner's webpage creation forms instead of working with actual html. An accidental conversion of one of the site's pages from the beginner's mode to advanced forced me to learn some very basic html skills to keep updating my site.
As I assembled knowledge from various internet sources, the most helpful being Lissa Explains It All, the site's appearance became more sophisticated. Lissa's site provided a few ready-to-use layouts; the main difference between hers and mine was the use of div layers instead of tables. I was also introduced to the world of CSS through the same website, a change I resisted at first but very slowly incorporated into my site as I learned how the code worked.
Over a year ago now a close friend mentioned to me a former deviantART administrator was looking for people to host on his web server. I'd said before this I was looking for a paid web space that was decently cheap and had enough room for me to possibly host other people's sites through my domain. I contacted mirrorkills through deviantART's note system and we struck up a deal. After copying my web pages from Angelfire to ninthdimension.net, I made the first custom artwork the site would ever see -- until then, the artwork I used was lifted from random images I found through Google's search feature.
Though progress on the site's pages has been slow, even with the entire layout glitching up and needing to be scrapped at one point, this website has come a long way since its first days.
Ninthdimension.net is still what it always was from the day of its creation -- a personal website created for the publication of topics of interest to me and my friends, and other personal creations such as artwork and stories. The site also hosts the website of an online friend of mine, and the forums for the Ragnarok Online guild headed by my husband.
